Nine people were severely injured at an Illinois truck stunt show Thursday when a giant stunt truck spun out of control and tore into a crowd of about 100 shocked spectators. Horrified onlookers watched in disbelief as the truck plowed through at least 9 people before regaining control by driving through a wooden fence to safety and out of the way of other people.

"After its third or fourth attempt of rolling over the cars, and getting back down to the street, it appeared to have lost control and at that point careened off to the left into part of the crowd that was watching the event" - City Manager Mark Biernacki

Several of the injured were treated at local Dekalb trauma centers. Seven had been released by nightfall, but two remained in serious condition.

The monster truck event was sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts.
