Wrongful Death Lawsuit Settled for $1.7 Million

In a wrongful death lawsuit settlement, the family of a 73-year-old man who died when he received the wrong drug during surgery, will receive $1.775 million.

According to the Widow's attorney, Piedmont Medical center will pay the bulk of the settlement (approximately $1.275 million). The remainder of the settlement will be paid by the doctor''s and their insurance and other medical personnel that was involved.

According to court documents, the anestheisologist and nurse anesthestist, accidentally gavve the man the wrong drug during heart surgery in 2002. The documents further state the doctor failed to disclose to the fmaily how he died.
